Movin' on up

Haven't posted in a while, been putting most of my free time into playing and by the time the session is over it's usually bed time, leaving me no time to post. I'm starting to put more volume in and it's going very well. I moved up to 10NL and have been winning consistently. I feel it's reasonably different than 5NL, but I'm enjoying it so far.

A huge thanks to Jasons from 2P2 who posted a video/contest thread, you can find it here. Great video and I recommend a watch, the contest thing was a really cool idea. I managed to get the 100th post while 4tabling late at night and I'm really happy I was able to. Tonight I did my first sweat session (ever) and it went really well. He sweated me for 45 mins or so and we talked a lot about marginal situations and he really gave me some great overarching advice that applies to poker in general and especially my limits. Staying out of those marginal situations, not getting fancy when you don't need to, a bit of help on my pre-flop game, etc. I think sweat sessions are by far the best way to learn anything, being able to talk things over after they happen and while they happen is just invaluable.

I think we'll wait about a week and then I'll have another sweat session with him and he's going to also do a stat review with me to discuss possible leaks and things to improve on. Jasons knows his stuff, and I'm extremely grateful for him to be giving back to the community as he is. He 18 tables 100NL and posts 2-3PTBB/100 profit, so... yeah. Balla'.

For the 2P2 micro sweat sessions for the month I'm paired with MacAvoy, who lives a few hours away and plays 25NL. I feel bad because I won't really be able to help him that much, but I hope we can do quite a few sweats together because it really is so helpful. Definitely looking forward to it. I'm still planning on doing a January review, probably this weekend. I'll post my graphs and some of my stats so I can sort of keep track of them month to month. Here are some quick stats of my 10NL play so far and a pot from tonight which proved to be my largest ever.
